
I am a fully qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). My training was with the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
My accreditation as a DEA is with BRE Certification Ltd and my accreditation number is BREC200166. In addition to my Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment, I have also achieved a Diploma in Home Inspection.
I carry out energy assessments of residential property in order to produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). I cover an area of approximately 50 miles radius from Oxford. This includes all of Oxfordshire, and parts of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
An EPC
is a required document in the Home Information Pack (HIP) that is needed when you market a property for sale (in England &
Wales). I do not provide the full HIP, but only the EPC, and therefore
I work for businesses that provide HIPs.
From October 1st 2008, an EPC
will be required for all rental properties (in England &
Wales). It needs to be available for all new leases entered into after
such date. Once an EPC is issued for a rental property it has a life of 10 years before it needs to be replaced.
